Mumbai: Cars were vandalized, shops owners were beaten and people’s life is on edge; just because of fake rumors on Tripura Communal Violence. A Curfew was imposed in Amravati on Saturday against the backdrop of back-to-back incidents of stone-pelting on Friday and Saturday.

As per the order issued on Saturday by the Amravati Police, the curfew has come into effect within the limits of the city and will remain in force till further order is issued.

This order is issued by officiating police Commissioner Sandip Patil under sections 144(1), (2), (3) of the CrPC to avoid riots type incidents

Amravati, Nanded, Malegaon, and many parts of Maharashtra are under unrest because of an alleged peaceful protest.

In response to Amravati Violence, Devendr Fadnavis said “We condemn protest & violence happening in Maharashtra. Tripura Police have exposed fake photos posted on social media. I appeal to people of Amravati to maintain social harmony and peace. There should be action against leaders giving iciting speeches”
