Kartik Lorai (battle of Gods), actually means immersion of Hindu idols with procession, is the biggest religion festival of Beldanga. Every years, at the day of Kartick Purnima (according to Bengali Calendar), the local Hindu community of Beldanga town organized Kartick Puja. And, at the very next day, a colorful procession with idols various Gods and Goddesses goes around the city, that calls ‘Beldanga Kartik Larai‘ (কার্তিক লড়াই) . Generally, the idols of the Goddess is pressed on shoulder and the procession of devotion is taken out. The procession takes place over a distance of about 2 KM. Watch video (Live) for example–
The main attractions of Beldanga’s Kartik Ladai (বেলডাঙ্গার কার্তিক লড়াই) are Bathangore (Chuttor Para) Buro Shiv, Netaji Park Laxmi, Babu Kartik, Barua Colony (Tarun Sangha) Buro Shiv, Rail Quarter Kartick, Hunaman, Baba Lokenath, Ganesh etc. Procession over 200 idols of various Gods and Goddesses goes around the city.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the 2020’s Kartick Lorai was postponed by court order. Same situation was arises in 2021 also. But, against a writ petition [(WPA (P) 303 of 2021], the Calcutta High Court has ordered that the Beldanga Karrik Lorai 2021 may be held in accordance with the COVID guidelines.

Beldanga is a very small Municipal town in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The town is well-connected by trains and buses. Pick Sealdaha-Lalgola Railway route to visit Beldanga. The town is only 18 Km away (in Southern side) from the district town Berhampur. Also, NH-12 (previously NH-34) passed over the city.
