A. Eligibility Conditions :-
1. Educational Qualification for ASI (Steno) & HC (Min) :-
Intermediate or Senior Secondary School certificate (10+2) examination from from a recognized board or university or equivalent .
2. Educational Qualification for Constable (Daftry) :-
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board or institution.

3. Shorthand and Typing Speed :-
a. Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI-Steno) :
Shorthand @80 words per minute in English or in Hindi for 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes on computer or transcription of dictation in Hindi in 65 minutes on Computer.
b. Head Constable (Ministerial) :
Typing @35 words per minute in English or @30 words per minute in Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English/9000 KDPH in Hindi with average of 5 key depression for each word on computer. Time-10 minutes.
c. For Constable (Drafty) : No technical test require for CT (Daftry)

B. Selection Procedure for ASI (Steno), HC (MIN) and CT (Daftry):
The selection shall be held in two phase under –
1. First Phase
(i) Written Examination
2. Second Phase 
(i) Physical Measurement Test (PST)
(ii) Short Hand Test (Only for ASI)
(iii) Typing Speed Test (only for HC-Ministerial)
(iv) Documentation (Checking of documents)
(v) Medical Examination
There shall be sufficient gap between two phases of tests.

Written Examination Syllabus and Marks Distribution :-
BSF Written examination will consist of the following five parts
PART-I   –  Hindi/English language           –  20 marks
PART-II  –  General Intelligence               –  20 marks
PART-III –  Numerical Aptitude               –  20 marks
PART-IV –  Clerical Aptitude                   –  20 marks
PART-V  –   Basic Computer Knowledge –  20 marks
There will be one composite paper for one year forty (1-40) minutes duration consisting of above five parts and will be “OMR based objective type with multiple choice questions” . Question papers will be printed bilingually (English & Hindi) . The minimum qualification marks of written test are as under –
(i)  General Category   –   35 %
(ii) OBC/SC/ST          –   33%
However, remember in this case, the number of candidates to be qualified in written examination may restricted to the ten (10) times the number of vacancies for the post of HC/CT and 30 times the number of vacancies for the post Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI-Stenographer)

1. The candidates declared successful in written examination will be called to appear in he second phase of selection separately.
2. The candidates found eligible after physical measurements will only be allowed in typing (For HC/Min) and stenography speed test (For ASI/Steno) which will be qualifying in nature and to be cleared separately in each stage.
3. Documentation :-
candidates to be produce all their original documents of age proof, educational qualification, caste certificate , and other testimonials/ certificates required for mentioned posts during documentation.
